Tilahun Ayane Debele, PhD

Dr. Tilahun Ayane Debele was born in May. 01, 1989 in North Shoa, Selale, Ethiopia. He received his BSc degree in Applied Chemistry from Ambo University, Ethiopia, with great distinction in 2008. He was employed by Ethiopian MoE and worked as a graduate assistant I in the Department of Biochemistry for one year (2008-2009) at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. He holds his MSc degree in Medical Biochemistry, from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia in 2011. Thereafter He worked as Lecturer in the University of Gondar, College of medicine and health science, Gondar, Ethiopia, and taught Biochemistry to graduate students for three years (July 2011-Sept. 2014). Thereafter, he was enrolled and registered for Ph. D. degree in Applied science and technology in 2014 at NTUST, in Applied science and technology, Taiwan, under the supervision of Prof. Hsieh-Chih Tsai. He gets his Ph.D. in applied science and technology from the graduate institute of applied science and technology, NTUST, Taiwan in January 2017. Starting from February 2017 to December 31/2018, He was worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at National Yang-Ming University, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Taiwan. He was also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, for two years (i.e. 03/04/2019 to 05/05/2021). Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Cincinnati, Department of Biomedical, Chemical, and Environmental Engineering. His research area is mainly focused on the synthesis and characterization of stimuli-sensitive nanocarriers to improve the therapeutic efficacy of anticancer drugs.  His Ph.D. dissertation and postdoctoral research are concentrated on the synthesis of stimuli sensitive biocompatible nanoparticles based on the polysaccharide, such as GSH sensitive polymeric micelles, pH and GSH sensitive nanogels, to enhance chemotherapeutic efficacy and photodynamic therapy of cancers.  So far, He has published 19 research papers in reputable International Journals. His H-index is 11.0 as per the Scopus website. He has attended and presented his research work at different international conferences.
